Abortion
Procedures
The Carolina Center for
Women is a facility for pregnancy termination and other
gynecological services. The clinic is staffed with licensed,
trained physicians, physician assistant, nurse practitioners, registered nurses,
counselors, and trained assistants.
We offer a three fold
service:
- Pregnancy diagnosis
- Counseling
- Termination of
pregnancy through 15 weeks of pregnancy.
You may choose to come to
us for any one or all of these services.
Counseling:
Individual counseling is
available to help a woman explore her feelings regarding her
pregnancy and the alternatives available to her. In
addition, professionally trained counselors lead groups in
discussing the female reproductive system, birth control,
post-operative health, and the abortion
procedure.
THE MEDICAL ABORTION/ABORTION by PILL

The Medical Abortion/Abortion by pill is a process that is used
to end and early pregnancy. The patient must be 18 years or older
and live within a 1 hour radius of our facility and be between 5 and 7
weeks pregnancy. Please call our office for further information.
The Surgial Procedure
The procedure involves
removing the pregnancy by suction curettage, the most widely
used and safest method of abortion.

Appointments are available
most Mondays through Saturdays.
Please wear something
comfortable and bring a pair of socks for your
comfort.
Be prepared to stay at
least 4 hours.
Have someone accompany you
to the clinic.
Do not eat or drink
anything after midnight the night before a morning
appointment. Do not eat or drink anything 5 hours before an
afternoon appointment.
Please DO NOT bring
children to the clinic.
If you cannot keep your
appointment, please call the clinic as early as
possible.

The fees you will quoted include all
counseling, labwork, antibiotics, ultrasound, birth control,
and the procedure. Fees are subject to change without
notice. Please call us to verify your fee arrangments.
For patients who are RH
negative, there is an additional charge for the Rhogam
injection. Patients receive valium prior to their procedure.
Twilight Sedation is available for an additional charge.
